Insurance premium & lifestyle in 1000 characters

Should the national medical insurance reflect individuals' lifestyle?

National medical insurance premiums should reflect individuals’ life style choices. Most standard way of implementing the policy would be referring hospital medical record; if one wants to smoke every day, he will have to pay for his lifestyle which makes him vulnerable to additional diseases. This policy will be first, successfully realize economical justice – people will be paying for what they need. Thus, the policy will also stimulate people to be in a good shape especially those who don’t want to pay insurance premiums.

It is true that this policy will discourage people from using hospital even in some necessary cases, especially low income families who cannot afford healthcare premiums; however, deficit that the government is facing is intolerable: from 2009 to 2011, healthcare deficit in South Korea increased about 400%. Bankruptcy in healthcare leads to no welfare. We should first tackle with flaws of a healthcare system and handle with welfare for low income families later.

  1. This is some heavy reading, and I'm not sure whether or not you followed the prompt. Is one paragraph clearly stating your true opinion, while another is refuting it with a solid reason? Maybe, but I'm not sure. I would have to read and reread and decipher a little. True, part of that is because this is s a very complicated issue. Also, some sentences are a bit awkward. Since quality is the focus over quantity, you have to make sure everything is clear.

It might be advisable to chose a topic that is more personal and less heavy.
